All human beings have the basic right to eat, and countries should take responsibility for providing food security to its inhabitants. Poor nourishment affects physical, mental, and emotional health, and limits children’s learning abilities, as well as the development and effective participation of individuals in society.’
Prabhuji, through his Ramakrishnananda Food Distribution Program in Colombia, makes a sacred endeavor to show the people of this small town that we have not forgotten them, that we care for them and that we are here to extend our hand to them, towards a better future and a world with a fair distribution of food.
Prabhuji, His Holiness Avadhuta Sri Ramakrishnananda Babaji Maharaja, is a religious philosopher, a tantric master, a mystic, a yogi, and a realized spiritual master who has helped countless disciples and followers around the world find peace and fulfillment in their lives. The essence of his teachings is that a spiritual awakening and the transcendence of the egoic phenomenon is the next step in the evolutionary process of humanity.
He was born on March 21, 1958, in Santiago, Republic of Chile. At the age of eight, he had a mystical experience that set the course of his life and impelled him to search for the Truth.
In the decades that followed, Prabhuji studied and practiced several religions and spiritual paths under great masters. It was in 1996 that his tireless search led him to India where he finally met his beloved guru, His Holiness Avadhuta Sri Brahmananda Babaji Maharaja, a disciple of His Holiness Avadhuta Sri Mastarama Babaji Maharaja. It was shortly after this divine meeting that the process that began in his childhood was completed in Prabhuji.
Following the instructions of his guru, Prabhuji is dedicated to spreading his own teachings, “The Path of Recognition”, which is the synthesis of what he learnt throughout his spiritual journey.
In 2003, Prabhuji established the Vimukti Yoga Mission, a not-for-profit religious organization in the United States. By 2010, he set up the online Vishwa Dharma Institute. The following year, he founded the Vishwa Dharma Ashram in the Catskill Mountains in New York State. This paradisiacal place, surrounded by forests and creeks, is an ideal environment in which to retreat, meditate, relax and engage in spiritual practice. Its 47-acre forests, with lush vegetation, trees and many species of wild birds, recalls the jungles of India.
In 2012, Prabhuji moved into the ashram, where he lives a contemplative life of prayer and meditation, and guides disciples and spiritual seekers who visit him.
Prabhuji’s meditating and realization of one consciousness that pervades all creation, had led him to establish the Ramakrishnananda Humanitarian Projects, a chain of welfare projects for the poor and needy in the world
