Video : Glories to Hanuman in ‘Black Panther’ movie censored only in India

Black Panther has not only been receiving great reviews but has also broken many box office records. Yet in India there was a bit of censoring of the film. In the scene with T’Challa and M’Baku the word “Hanuman” was censored. The reason for this is because they are hailing this god, saying “Glory to Hanuman.” Not only was the word censored but the subtitles for the word were also censored. India’s Central Board of Film Certification said they wanted to avoid hurting “religious sentiments.” But the same Indian censor board don’t seem to care when movies distorting history like with the recent one on Padmini or mocking Hinduism generally as that comes under Freedom of Expression
