An eight-year-old Hindu child in London was allegedly forced to leave his school, not due to academics or behaviour, but over his religious identity. The child, a student at Vicar’s Green Primary School, regularly applied a Tilak–Chandlo, a sacred Hindu mark. According to advocacy group Insight UK, school staff questioned the child about his faith, monitored him during breaks, and removed him from responsibilities, causing distress and isolation. Parents’ attempts to explain the religious significance were allegedly dismissed. The group claims similar issues forced at least four Hindu children to leave.
