Namit Malhotra, whose VFX studio DNEG company and its team provided visual effects for Hollywood blockbusters like Blade Runner 2049, Tenet, Inception, Interstellar and the two Dune films. Now bring the Ramayana to life soon. Over the last 10 years, DNEG has won eight Oscars, seven of those being for Best Visual Effects, so what’s coming is going to be epic.
Mr Malhotra has been working on the Ramayana movie adaptation since 2015. The movie will be a two-part series, with Part 1 releasing in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 on Diwali 2027, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash portrays Ravana, Ravie Dubey plays Laxman, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. AR Rahman has teamed up with Hans Zimmer for the music. From training and teaching the kids of chaiwallahs in VFX to building a global empire, His story is nothing short of cinematic itself.
