Kate Middleton, better known as  Catherine, the Princess of Wales, was in Leicester to celebrate Holi with the British Hindu community. Around her neck, she was given a “mala,” a necklace made of pearls and bright red roses—a symbol of honour and respect.As she walked into a Hindu Temple, she removed her shoes in respect before joining in the Hindu traditional dancing with the ladies and later chatted to members of the temple.

 

Kate Middleton is ditching her heels during her latest royal outing! The Princess of Wales showed off her outgoing personality in Leicester, England on March 5, where she visited the city to celebrate the culture and heritage of the British Indian community after the Hindu festival of Holi. The 44-year-old had a busy day visiting several sites and was all smiles as she walked into a Hindu Temple where she removed her shoes in order to respect their protocol. Once inside, Kate joined a traditional ladies dance and chatted to members of the temple. Dance was a big part of Kate’s day because earlier she watched a Bollywood performance at the Aakash Odedra Company. After the performance, she reportedly praised the dancers and revealed her three children, 12-year-old Prince George, 10-year-old Princess Charlotte and 7-year-old Prince Louis would be impressed. “You must be super fit because it’s super energetic,” she said according to The Daily Mail. “My children would love that; they love their dancing. Louis would love your dance routine.”

The Princess of Wales visited a dance studio in Leicester to celebrate the culture and heritage of the city’s British Indian community. Kate met dancers, musicians and community members who are helping to preserve and share traditional South Asian dance. During the visit, the Princess watched several performances and spoke with artists about their work and the role dance plays in bringing communities together. She appeared clearly impressed by one of the performances, reacting warmly as she watched the dancers.
