After a killing a few days ago of an Indian called Kapil shot dead for trying to stop someone from urinating in public, another horrifying crime of an Indian being killed has shocked Dallas, Texas. Chandra Mouli “Bob” Nagamallaiah, a 50-year-old Indian-origin motel manager, was brutally beheaded in front of his wife and teenage son after a dispute over a faulty washing machine. Police say the accused, 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, retrieved a machete and attacked Nagamallaiah in a gruesome assault. The suspect, who has a prior criminal record, has been arrested and charged with capital murder. The Indian community has been left devastated, rallying around Nagamallaiah’s family with financial support and condolences. The Indian Consulate in Houston confirmed assistance and is monitoring the case closely. This brutal killing has sparked outrage and grief both in India and the U.S.
