The president of the Italian Hindu Union, Franco Di Maria Jayendranatha, works hard to promote and integrate Hindu customs, including religious and cultural events, into Italian culture. He said that the Hindus in Italy stand with India in its fight against terrorism and supports recent Indian attacks on 9 terrorist camps in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor- The Italian Hindu Union, founded in 1996 by Swami Yogananda Giri with the cooperation of the Indian Embassy in Rome, represents a significant portion of Italy’s Hindu community, which has grown to around 223,000 by 2023, making it the second largest Hindu community in Europe after the UK and the largest in the EU.
