22-year-old law student and social media influencer, Sharmistha Panoli, has been sent for a 14-day judicial custody in Jail for criticising Islam on a video she had already deleted and publicly apologised for on May 15. While leaving the court, she said, “The way this harassment is being done in a democracy, this is not democracy.”
WHAT DID SHARMISHTHA PANOLI SAY?
It all started with now-deleted videos in which she slammed Bollywood actors, ‘The Khans’, for their alleged silence over India’s Operation Sindoor against terror camps in Pakistan and POK. And while in another deleted video, replying to possibly a Pakistani social media user’s question on why India attacked Pakistan.
She said, “Earlier, I used to think Nabi was delusional as he thought 72 hoors would be waiting for them in heaven, but this woman (a social media user) is even more delusional, she thinks India opened fire without any reason. Have you heard of the Pahalgam attack and other terrorists that your nation has been sponsoring? Should we not retaliate? We are not the devotees of Mahatma Gandhi anymore.”
Hindus, as expected in reaction, are going on a total X Twitter rampage, especially when hardly any government action is taken against those who openly mock Hinduism.
But this is in a country of a billion Hindus, so the biggest question that’s always asked is, when are the billion Hindus ever going to take action? West Bengal is not on the other side of the universe but right there in India. If hundreds of millions ‘unitedly’ can go to the Kumbh mela, then there are more than enough who can put pressure on the state and bring it to its knees by coming out in public.
If Kalki avatar came down now, the first people he would give a good thrashing to will be these Hindus who just sit there as Hindus are attacked, killed or jailed like this lady, while Hinduism is mocked all around them and, apart from a few, never take to action.
Look at these millions of Hindu temples. Did they do a joint puja for the 26 victims killed in Kashmir or any other victims? do they raise the persecution of Hindus? Nope, because Cowardice is the real and biggest enemy Hinduism is facing.
