From the red carpet with AP entertainment journalist Liam McEwan at the “Ramayana: Rise of a Legend” premiere in Los Angeles, with stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari. The ambitious two-part epic — with part one released in advance of the Diwali holiday — aims to share sacred Hindu stories with audiences around the world. The Indian film’s production includes Hollywood talent like stunt coordinator Terry Notary and second-unit director Guy Norris, as well as contributions from the composers Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman.
Ramayana gets a standing ovation at the teaser IMAX screening in L.A. Indian cinema shines on the global stage! Chris Nolan, James Cameron praise the fabulous team of Namit Malhotra (DNEG), Nitesh Tiwari (Dangal), Hans Zimmer, A.R. Rahman, Guy Norris, Terry Notary, … and a great cast!
Ramayana is aura farming at its absolute finest, and I fucking loved it. Imagine the epic fantasy of The Lord of the Rings, the spiritual weight of The Prince of Egypt, the emotional grandeur of The Lion King, and the breathtaking world of Princess Mononoke. This is monumental, emotional, visually stunning filmmaking that DEMANDS the biggest screen possible.
