India has condemned the demolition of a Hindu deity statue in Cambodia after visuals showed a Lord Vishnu statue being destroyed in a disputed border area near Preah Vihear. The statue, built in 2014, was located in the An Ses region and the incident comes amid rising tensions between Cambodia and Thailand. India said Hindu and Buddhist deities are deeply revered across the region and such acts hurt religious sentiments and shared heritage. New Delhi urged both sides to resolve the dispute through dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further loss of life and damage to cultural sites.
