After destroying America’s indigenous spiritual culture inspired by the Church, Marco Rubio’s India visit reveals a deeper civilisational blind spot in Western diplomacy with an obvious hidden agenda. The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, arrived in Bharat and chose to visit Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata rather than pay respects at the sacred institutions of India’s indigenous faiths: Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, or Sikhism.

Diplomacy is not only about trade deals and military strategy. Symbolism matters. Respect matters. But of course, India, being the surviving beacon of indigenous people that survived, and who will awaken all other indigenous pagan cultures across the world, is a very big problem for the US and the West generally, who have been conquered by Middle Eastern Christianity with a brown Jesus (who has Indian DNA and probably a Hindu ) they turned into a tall white European while at the same time complaining about a black actress playing Helen of Troy.

India is not merely a market or geopolitical ally. It is one of humanity’s oldest living civilisations and the birthplace of Dharmic traditions that shaped Asia and inspired billions across the world. A civilisation that contributed to the world with the decimal place-value system, invented zero as both a placeholder and a number, established modern trigonometry, anticipated the rules of calculus, and produced groundbreaking advancements in number theory, which advanced science and tech we use presently, along with much more, and is still contributing.

Yet during a high-profile state visit, America’s top diplomat chose to foreground a missionary institution associated by many Indians with conversion activity among vulnerable communities rather than honouring India’s indigenous spiritual heritage.

Critics, including Christopher Hitchens and researchers such as Aroup Chatterjee, have long challenged the sanitised global narrative around Mother Teresa, raising allegations about poor medical conditions, questionable funding sources, and the romanticising of suffering rather than systemic upliftment. As exposed further here in this article The ‘Real’ Mother Teresa by Christopher Hitchens

There were also longstanding controversies regarding donations accepted from corrupt businessmen and authoritarian figures, including Haitian dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier and convicted fraudster Charles Keating, despite widespread allegations surrounding their activities. Critics argued that moral legitimacy and global influence were used to shield questionable financial and political networks from scrutiny.

For many Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains, this is not viewed as a neutral humanitarian gesture. It evokes painful memories of colonial-era missionary systems that often attempted to erase indigenous traditions, languages and spiritual identities.

If the United States truly wants a deep strategic partnership with India, then respect for India’s civilisation must go beyond economics and military alliances.

Respect means recognising:

• Kashi and Kedarnath
• Bodh Gaya
• Amritsar
• Madurai and Rameswaram
• Shravanabelagola
• Jagannath Puri

These are not tourist attractions. They are sacred civilisational centres carrying thousands of years of spiritual continuity. India’s indigenous traditions survived invasions, colonialism and aggressive conversion campaigns. Modern diplomacy should not repeat old civilisational hierarchies under the banner of humanitarianism. A strong US-India relationship requires mutual respect, not selective acknowledgement of only Western-linked religious conversion institutions. Civilisational respect cannot be selective.

But the blame also goes on India itself, which is still stuck in post-colonialism, to why this con artist gets away with it, but anywhere else in the world, including the ‘Christian’ West, she would already be fully classed as a fraud, and her institutions would be closed down, even in Albania, where she was from.

But the pseudo-Hindu BJP has no backbone to do so, and worse, the late External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj of the BJP had led the official Indian government delegation to the canonisation ceremony of Mother Teresa at the Vatican on September 4, 2016. The canonisation mass, where Pope Francis officially declared Mother Teresa a saint, was attended by an 11-member Indian Gunga Din delegation, so what to expect?
