Aarti Khetarpal is getting global attention online after making her Cannes debut with a spiritually inspired appearance rooted in Hinduism. Stepping onto the prestigious red carpet at the 79th Cannes Film Festival in May 2026, the multi-talented actress, presenter, and devotional artist completely bypassed conventional high-fashion tropes to proudly showcase India’s deep Hindu Vedic heritage.
She carried the Bhagavad Gita, a chanting bag, and wore Vrindavan-inspired couture featuring Hare Krishna elements. Designed by the celebrated couturier Sulakshana Monga, her stunning golden-yellow lehenga served as a beautiful canvas hand-painted with intricate motifs of sacred trees, flowing waters, and dancing gopis. Aarti paired the look with custom-made Polki jewellery, a red Gomukhi (chanting bag) featuring the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, and a sacred Tulsi Kanthi mala. In place of a designer handbag, Aarti carried a miniature edition of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita sourced directly from Gita Press, making it the definitive highlight of her ensemble. Beyond her acting roles in Inside Edge, Aarti is a prominent Bhakti artist whose vocals were featured on the 2026 Grammy-nominated project Sounds of Kumbha.
