Video : Indigenous Hindu Event Opens With Native American Invocation

As part of Sai Deepak’s tour around the US, the “Bharatam” event at UC Berkeley on March 3rd began with a Native American prayer led by Kanyon Sayers of the Indian Canyon Nation who is the youngest Indian council women in California from Indian Canyon nation, Hollister, California. 

Sayers was called to educate and welcome Indigenous Hindus and others who were attending the event that UC Berkeley sits on the territory of xučyun (Huichin), the ancestral and unceded land of the Chochenyo-speaking Ohlone nation people.
 
Followed by Ishaan/Glenn Jystad along with his beloved wife Rashmi Tantra,an Indigenous Hindu woman to give reverence to both Indigenous cultures. Rashmi and Glenn are the founders of Kalifornia Dharamshala, a yogic farm and Indigenous Dharma. cultural centre on Klamath River, California.

In both native cultures, there is an element of nature-worshipping and Rivers and mother Earth being sacred and life-giving energy sources to all lifeforms including their ancestors.
