The film highlights the issues of Pakistani Hindus, in Pakistan, as well as in India. The minority community of Pakistan has been subjected to the gravest human rights violations and persecution for the past several years, which has resulted in the exodus of Hindus from Pakistan to India in great numbers. Although their problem doesn’t reduce after seeking refuge in India where they are stigmatized for being Pakistanis. The feature-length film tells the stories about different issues they face in Pakistan, which include conversion, bonded labour, attacks in temples, Hindu hatred in government-approved school textbooks and kidnapping for ransom.
After seeking refuge in India they suffer for basic needs, resettlement issues as no assistance is being provided by the government authorities, identity crisis, discrimination by the local people, local NGOs and authorities. The film will portray the root cause of the issues of minority Hindus in Pakistan, starting from the partition of India where they became the citizens of divided India from the undivided India, overnight and for generations, they have been paying the price of it. India has failed to raise the issue of persecution of Hindus in its neighboring country on a global platform and due to which they are ignored community no one has ever paid attention to. Also, India doesn’t have its own refugee laws which makes the situation worse for these people seeking refuge here. The film is a detailed story of their life in Pakistan and their their life after coming to India. The film was one of the most successful crowdfunded projects of the year 2016 in India and aims at global awareness about the ignored community.
The film was screened globally in many places such as House of Commons along with 22 places in United Kingdom (2018), in Netherlands (2017) and a few places in India which includes FTII.
