During the Halloween season, Rutgers University, under a Michael Myers mask of freedom of academic expression, held its ‘Hindutva in America. A Threat to Equality and Religious Pluralism’ debate on the 27th October, chaired by Audery Truschke, with her round table of non-Hindus to discuss this biggest threat to humanity known as ‘Hindutva’ being far worse than even since Independence Day, when Aliens had tried to destroy New York City, which would even scare the Tin foil hats off the Alex Jones and the David Ikes out there.
And as expected, without a fortune teller to tell you, they once again promoted Hinduphobia from its racist and religious prejudice historical roots through academic camouflage, which really means covering the stench with an air freshener to promote the same out-of-date hostility or misrepresentation of Hindus and Hinduism, being part of the last surviving ancient civilisation in the world that’s not yet in a museum.
They also denied there is anything as Hinduphobia, even though Edward Sullivan in the UK had coined the word back in 1866, seeing the hate against Hindus documenting a long history of prejudice against Hindus from colonial propaganda to modern mischaracterisation in Western institutions.
But we are sure her Klan will be providing the same proof for Global Hindutva as for Edward Sullivan, also being Hindutvadi and a member of the RSS clown cult then.
This is a repeated reminder to Hindu Americans and others, especially other Pagans, that they are not fully civilised to be classed as humans, so they need policing under the watchful eyes of the Salem Witch Trials court represented by hard-core far-right Christian academics like Audery Truschke with her army of brown subservient Indian ‘yes gora sahib-jee’ Gunga Dins.
The Hindu heathen pagan savages who are guilty by default were not allowed to participate in the debate around the enlightened table, like the days of No Dogs No Indians, but a few Hindus who did attend in a small audience were from the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA).
While attending in good faith to observe and try to engage in a genuine academic exchange, ended up with an apartheid-style reaction when one of CoHNA’s members, Suresh Krishnamoorthy, respectfully approached Audrey Truschke after her talk, with a hand shake and to dialogue in an open
and scholarly manner, was met with a blunt ‘how dare you NOOO’ refusal, where later on X she bragged about how she don’t shake hand with ‘fascists’ really meaning brown Hindu pagan heathens when you know her hardcore Evangelical Baptist missionary background but some how we are meant to believe that’s got zero influence on her views on Hindus and Hinduism.
Not forgetting ‘Fascists and Far Right are the latest trendy words these days to shout people down, often used by those who fit perfectly into these definitions themselves, so as Hindus, we always go Sherlock Holmes mode when we hear these slurs, to finally discover here’s the real fascist, which in her case is a KKKaren.
Her attitude just reflects deep down racist and religious hate that some of these privileged middle class whites still have in their DNA, not forgetting most lynchings of Black Americans occurred in the American South, a region historically known as the “Bible Belt” for its high concentration of Christian evangelicals, which she herself is connected to, so its not surprising she also promotes the Aryan Race theory the fantasy of white supremacists still being taught as fact at most the universities who have a history of promoting eugenics based around an Aryan race which inspired the Nazis.
This is why the stigmatisation of Hindu symbols like the Swastika is being promoted as a Nazi symbol when in reality it’s the Hakenkreuz hooked cross. This is done deliberately to give the false impression that Hinduism leads to Hindutva, then to Nazism.
Even as far back as a hundred years ago, Hindu teachers such as Swami Vivekananda and Swami Paramahansa Yogananda also encountered such Hinduphobic bias, where the early incarnation of Audrey Truschke, known as Katherine Mayo, an American journalist, wrote the book Mother India, vilifying Hinduism like we see now at these debates. It was even criticised by many Western academics then.
Which is why a refusal to debate in true academic freedom depends on the willingness to discuss, question, and respond in a genuine two-way engagement, rather than performative rhetoric while silencing or dismissing those who seek a voice in the conversation. Evasion of open debate by Hinduphobic individuals or groups who promote anti-Hindu narratives but refuse accountability when challenged is not academic freedom but fascism itself.
Because these self-appointed gatekeepers continue to impose their apartheid against Hindu voices and views in most universities, where persistent misrepresentation of Hindu philosophy and history in academic and media settings is a continuity of religious prejudices, extending from colonial-era racist caricatures to a politically correct update wrapped in modern public discourse, where it is given the official stamp of approval. While normalising the systemic dismissal of Hindu voices in public discourse and the denial of their human rights to define their own faith and identity. This Hinduphobic virus then travels to others.
Which we can also see via social media, the current hinduphobic hate by the MAGA Christian lot against Hindus online, with racist and religious slurs, especially calling Indians smelly and dirty, who are covered in cow dung and human excrement, thanks to the Hinduphobic movie Slumdog Millionaire that shows the boy character Jamal covered in human faeces while also promoting ‘Hindutva’ savages on the rampage which is not in the book the movie is based on which even surprised its author.
In Texas, a group of masked men with “Take Action Texas” were holding signs calling Hindu deities “foreign demons,
The Hindu community faces the most racist and religious hate than any other community, with hardly any anti-race groups or others raising it.
Not forgetting the recent attacks on Hindu temples, while so many Indians have faced violence and even been killed which conferences like this add more fuel to the prejudices. Many Hindu students face bullying and hate at these universities. Even Hindus from white, black and other races face extreme Hinduphobic hate.
Many Yoga teachers who try to add Hindu practices or even use Hindu terms often face the same Hinduphobia. Yes, a few good politicians across the political spectrum have stood by Hindus recognising Hinduphobia, but it all needs to go mainstream to the public.
Do Hindus Have Human Rights?
The right to freedom of belief and equal participation in public discourse is guaranteed under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Articles 18 and 19) and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Targeting a community’s faith under the guise of “scholarship” or “activism” constitutes discrimination and undermines the very principles of academic and civil freedom.
Hindu advocacy groups and activists, students, and concerned citizens should publicly emphasise that silence is no longer an option. Repeated patterns of defamation, selective reporting, and ideological targeting have eroded trust in the academic and media establishments meant to uphold intellectual fairness and equality.
This is why it’s time for Hindu organisations and activists to call for an open, transparent, and fact-based “Who Owns Hindutva” public debate, challenging Audrey Truschke and her Klan, along with other Hinduphobic academics and media journalists, inviting them to provide their evidence that Hindutva is some far-right Hindu nationalism.
This can be challenged by a whole stream of professional academics like Professor Vamsee Juluri, Dr Lavanya Vemsani, Jeffery Long, Prakash Shah, Dr Koenraad Elst and many others, along with researchers and authors like Rajiv Malhotra, Vishal Ganeshan, Sai Deepak and Sandeep Balakrishna and others.
Invite also Hindu female activists popular on social media who deal with Hinduphobia to talk to audiences by bringing in the extremely oppressed Hindu women because of the Manu Smriti, like Rashmi Tantra from Kalifornia Dharamshala, Sahana Singh, her daughter Samyu Singh, Maria Wirth, Nupar J Sharma, Savitri Mumukshu, Renee Lynn, Aditi Banerjee Malakar, English Bahen and Karolina Goswami, etc.
Invite anti-race groups, along with politicians from all parties, especially Tulsi Gabbard, Vivek Ramaswamy or the head of the FBI, like Kash Patel and others. Many celebrities are Hindus, and others who practise Hinduism invite them all.
Also, invite native indigenous American representatives, along with members of the growing pagan movement, who should be there and made aware that the largest group of pagans, meaning the Hindus, are there for them.
Promote the debate challenge with a massive publicity campaign, including ads, street posters, videos even flying banners up in the sky announcing the challenge. Let the public know, and let the media give it maximum publicity.
The main debate could extend into a weekend of debates with exhibitions and presentations covering, showing the history of Hindphobia rooted in Paganphobia throughout time, educating students and the general public.
Her Royal Highness Audrey Truschke also claimed that she was threatened before her recent debate by invisible Hindutva Orcs sent by Lord Saffron, formerly known as Lord Sauron before he converted to Hindutva, which is why she had to have security. However, we were told that this is the standard security protocol at Rutgers for events. Even so, the Hindu side can approach Batman to take a day off from protecting Gotham City to handle security, or perhaps the Avengers might also be available to maintain peace.
The Hindu side needs to learn that you have to go to the streets, talk to the public, that’s how it works, so make noise, let the media pick it up, and then you are heard which is why Journalists, educators, and policymakers presented with facts will have to recognize Hinduphobia as a legitimate human-rights concern and to why incorporate Hindu voices in discussions of faith, representation, and equality are needed.
When we held our protests on the streets, we had a lot of media coverage, often more positive than negative. The negative ones were often by the “indian subservient, yes, gora sahibjee Gungadin”
A BBC producer of Pakistani Muslim background had once reached out to us for our perspective on our campaign protesting over the Ram shoes protests against a French company. The resulting documentary presented a fair and balanced view of why we took a stand — and the truth prevailed.
Soon after, a representative from the Race Relations Board, also a Pakistani Muslim woman, invited us for a meeting. She openly acknowledged a troubling reality — that when Hindus raise concerns about discrimination or Hinduphobia, they are often silenced by being unfairly labelled as “Hindu nationalists” or “RSS supporters.”
Recognising this pattern of prejudice and dismissal, she gave us an opportunity to speak. We delivered a presentation at their office to a full audience, explaining how anti-Hindu bias manifests and how it affects the community. Everyone agreed with us.
That day reaffirmed a vital human rights principle — when you engage with people directly and articulate the experience of marginalisation in a language they understand, most will stand with you with empathy and agree with your concerns. This happens when you are out on the ground.
This is why Hindu campaigns like these are not campaigns of confrontation but of clarity, dignity, and justice. Every community deserves the right to self-representation, to challenge falsehoods, and to participate in open discussion without fear or distortion. Silence enables prejudice — dialogue dismantles it. Is the United States of America ready for that?
