A giant statue of Hanuman in Brampton, which will be Canada’s largest statue of a Hindu deity will finally be completed in April 23 to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti, according to reports.
The piece is designed by Indian sculptor Naresh Kumawat, who has made over 200 statues in 80 countries including sculptures in Canada and a mural outside the parliament building in Delhi.
A video posted on Kumawat’s Instagram page shows parts of the huge Hanuman statue being lifted into place by a crane. The sculpture is already up outside the Hindu Sabha Mandir.
Of course, as the left-wing Hinduphobes are too busy with the global hindutva threats to the universe to even notice Hanuman has landed feet first in Canada but some Right-wing Hinduphobes have and are coming with comments like –
“A 55-foot Hindu statue is going up in Brampton, Ontario….which is another reminder that we need an IMMEDIATE HALT ON ALL IMMIGRATION INTO CANADA.” – Joe Blo
I live right near this. I’m torn about it. Architecturally/Structurally and with Zoning Bylaws, I wonder how they got a permit? I also wonder what the reaction would be if it was at a Christian Church with a 55 foot Jesus Christ?? How many Christian churches were burned to the ground or vandalism, and not a word from the media about police investigations or arrests. The Liberals say it is understandable because of the EMPTY allegations of mass graves that didn’t uncover one person! Given our government’s behaviour, is it clear why I’d have conflicting views on this Hindu statue? –Tom Marazzo
