Down at Adelaide’s 9th Annual Vaisakhi Mela organised by Punjab Aussie Association as an inclusive multicultural festival, Sikh supremacists are intent on disrupting the participants to stop them from practising their culture. This Sikh group imposed a fundamentalist interpretation of Vaisakhi and are doing all they can to dominate the space so nobody, whether Sikh, Hindu or anyone else can enjoy the celebration.
Harmeet Thakur, of Punjab Aussie Association, says the group have approached patrons telling them not to go inside the venue.
